KUSUM Solar Pump Distribution Scheme was initiated by the Indian Government to increase the income of farmers and provide sources for irrigation and de-dieselize the farm sector. Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan also known as PM-KUSUM scheme which got its administrative approval in March 2019 and guidelines were framed in July 2019. The PM-KUSUM scheme was launched by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) with a view for the installation of solar pumps and other renewable power plants across the nation.

KUSUM Solar Pump Distribution (PM-KUSUM) Scheme 2022 – Notification, Registration, Apply Form Online
Farmers, groups of farmers, panchayat, and co-operative societies can apply to plant a solar pump under this scheme and total cost involved in this scheme is divided into three categories in which the Government will help farmers. Under PM-KUSUM Yojana, government will provide a subsidy of 60% to farmers and 30% of the cost will be given by Government in form of loans and farmers will only have to give 10% of the total cost of the project. The electricity generated from the solar panel can be sold by the farmers and the money gained after selling electricity can further be used for starting a new business.
KUSUM Solar Pump Distribution (PM-KUSUM) Scheme 2022 Details – Eligibility, Document Required, Benefits, Objectives
Eligibility:
- Farmers, Group of farmers, Co-Operative of farmers, Panchayat, Farmer Production Organisations (FPO), Water User Association (WUA) who have their own or lease land can apply to plant a solar pump under this scheme and are engaged in setting up of:
- Component A: Installation of decentralized ground/stilt mounted grid connected solar or other renewable energy based power plants of individual plant size from 5OO KW to 2MW.
- Component B: Setting up of standalone Solar powered Agriculture Pumps of individual pump capacity up to 7.5 HP.
- Component C: Solarisation of 1.5 million grid connected agricultural pumps.

- Passport Size photo.

- Quotation/Invoice (if available).
- Project Report (if available).
- IT Returns (if available).
